I find this collection of poems interesting and unexpectedly moving at times. They span the poet's childhood, adolescence, and adulthood and give naked insight into the changing moods and deepening maturity of Ramsaran. Her earlier poems in the collection demonstrate the sweet innocence of childhood, then she moves into the troubling angst of adolescence; her final poems demonstrate her maturity and sense of acceptance of herself and the world around her that comes through time, growth, and faith. Several of her poems contain images that will stay with the reader afterwards and that is the mark of a good writer. This would be a great present for a teenager moving into adulthood or for adults who are feeling nostalgic about their lives.
